Medical and Hazardous Waste Incinerators for Clinical and Industrial Applications

Medical and hazardous waste requires controlled, documented, high-temperature destruction. The regulatory framework is explicit and the consequences of non-compliance are serious, whether you operate a hospital, a remote medical facility, a pharmaceutical production site, or an industrial operation generating classified hazardous waste.

ESI Scholer designs and supplies multi-chamber incineration systems for medical and hazardous waste across the full spectrum of clinical and industrial applications. Our systems range from 15 kg/hr units for small medical facilities to 1,000 kg/hr configurations for large hospital networks or high-volume industrial waste streams.

The Compliance Problem

Medical waste incineration is one of the most tightly regulated waste treatment activities in most jurisdictions. Temperature requirements, gas residence times, emission limits for dioxins and furans, heavy metals, acid gases, and particulates are all specified and auditable. Operators who cannot demonstrate continuous compliance face permit revocation and reputational damage.

ESI Scholer units are engineered from the outset to meet the emission standards applicable to the jurisdiction of installation. For Australian EPA frameworks, EU IED reference standards, or Indonesian SNI 8423:2023, we provide a compliance matrix as part of our project documentation package.

Waste Streams We Handle

01

Clinical and Medical Waste

Safe thermal destruction for waste generated within healthcare and clinical environments.

  • Sharps and needles
  • Contaminated dressings, swabs, and surgical waste
  • Pharmaceutical and cytotoxic waste
  • Anatomical waste
  • Laboratory waste including culture media and biological samples
  • Personal protective equipment from clinical environments
02

Hazardous Industrial Waste

Controlled thermal treatment for hazardous waste generated through industrial and manufacturing processes.

  • Chemical waste from laboratory and manufacturing processes
  • Solvents and organic compound waste
  • Contaminated industrial packaging and containers
  • Oily rags and process cleaning waste
  • Classified hazardous waste requiring documented thermal destruction
03

Pharmaceutical and Research Waste

Reliable destruction of pharmaceutical products, chemical residues, and research waste requiring controlled disposal.

  • Expired or off-specification pharmaceutical product
  • Cytotoxic and oncology drug residues
  • Controlled substance residues requiring documented disposal
  • Research and development chemical waste
SYSTEM DESIGN & SCALE

Designed to Scale with
Your Waste Requirements

ESI Scholer medical and hazardous waste incinerators are available in capacities from 15 kg/hr through to 1,000 kg/hr.

The right capacity depends on the waste volumes generated at your facility, the composition of the waste streams, and your operational model. Whether you operate continuously, in batch windows, or on a schedule determined by waste accumulation.

01 15–50 KG/HR
SMALL FACILITY UNITS

Compact Capacity

Designed for remote health facilities, rural hospitals, island medical posts, and small clinical operations where waste volumes are modest but the need for compliant on-site disposal is acute. These units provide the same two-stage combustion performance as larger configurations in a compact footprint suited to facilities with constrained space and limited utility infrastructure.

02 50–300 KG/HR
03 300–1,000 KG/HR
HIGH-CAPACITY UNITS

High-Volume Capacity

For major hospital networks, large pharmaceutical manufacturing sites, or industrial operations generating high-volume classified waste, high-capacity configurations are engineered to sustain throughput across extended operating periods. These units include ash conveyor systems and automated loading options to support continuous or near-continuous operation.
